Therapy details
At Self Space Therapy, I offer Counselling & IFS informed Therapy for down-to-earth support for whatever’s going on inside, anxiety, old patterns, emotional overwhelm, or that vague “what even is this feeling?” thing. I work with a mix of approaches including IFS (Internal Family Systems), EFT (tapping), and trauma-informed counselling to help you understand your inner world and relate to it with more compassion. It’s not about fixing you. It’s about getting curious, creating room to breathe, and finding your way forward...gently.
What does the first visit look like?
The first session is mostly about getting to know each other. You can tell me what’s brought you here (or just vaguely gesture at the cloud of feelings, that works too), and I’ll ask a few gentle questions to get a sense of what you’re needing to get us started. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out. It’s a calm, spacious conversation and yes, tea is always an option.

Is therapy for you?
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, curious about your inner world, or just quietly wondering “am I doing okay?”, therapy might be a good place to land for a while. You don’t need a diagnosis or a crisis to start. You just need a bit of space (and maybe someone kind to sit in it with you).

Who am I?
I’m Joe, a qualified counsellor with a background in EFT, IFS-informed therapy, trauma support, and a long-standing love for the inner world. My work is all about creating a safe space where you can show up as you are, messy, thoughtful, anxious, uncertain and be met with warmth and curiosity. Before becoming a therapist, I designed spaces and carved wood, so holding space comes naturally. Kettle’s on.
